Yes, but its called Illustrator therefore one would assume its for illustration. Its not called adobe vector and so the challenge for the software designers is to create a programme for designers to create digital illustrations as fluently as possible. Adobe have failed miserably in this task.

used illustrator back in high school commercial art...and that was like illustrator 6 ,or somethig...and i agree with you...you do have to know how to use it or else it's just greek...i have the CS(not sure wich one) version that i downloaded from limewire...however i have no idea what "vector" even means...

you can also do all of this in photoshop.

it's one of the best programs for vector art. Non of the other adobe programs are for that.
