@GuruOfTheInternet Thats how I do it, you just cant get the same clean Topolgy with zbrush and optimize your mesh for games and the like.Base mesh in max, get the UVWs unwrapped, Zbrush basic detail out in one subdivision, take back to max make sure UVs are good and remove excessive loops, go back to zbrush make a normal map, photoshop a texture, then all together in max and render

@GuruOfTheInternet You dismiss the power of Zbrush too quickly and easily. Zbrush is indeed a very powerful modeling tool, in addition to sculpting. I've used 3DS (old school), 3DS Max, Maya, Lightwave, Truespace, Solidworks, Rhino etc.. etc. I'm in the industry, I have the software. Other than strict mechanical modeling, Zbrush is easier and faster to build base models upon which to sculpt. See vids by ZBRUSHatPIXOLOGIC and slorpthegillman for examples.
